Note The Symmetry

These clouds look like they mean business, they just look pure evil. The reason the colors came out different on both sides is actually due to a mistake on my part, I didn't match the exposure with the multiple shots. But I still think the picture came out good, in an evil way of course.

The Moonset

Yes you read correctly, I said Moonset. This particular sunrise was unique because the Moon had not gone away yet. Usually it is gone by the time the sun is coming up. I can almost see the colors of the clouds moving over the horizon when I keep staring at this picture. It seems everything was perfectly in place for it to be taken.

Bonus: Here is a wallpaper version, if you are into that sort of thing.

Just a Blue Sky

On a sunrise without clouds you seem to want to stare at something but you can find it. All you can notice is the faint glow of where the sun is. Where is the color and where are the shapes? I guess even clouds need to take days off, they got other stuff to do -- provide vegetation, restore life, etc.

Farm Sunrise

Honestly with photography of nature I feel most of it is chance. Sure your experience of taking photos for years comes in handy, it helps you get better angles and be more stable when shooting the photo. But a lot of it just has to do with luck itself, the right time and place sort of thing -- if that particular day is a picture perfect farm sunrise.

An Extra Bonus

This cloud formation might seem familiar to you. That's because it is the same one as the last post but with an added two pictures to make it wider. Amazing right? comparing it to the other picture you get a more complete view and an unexpected turn of colors.

A Regular Afternoon

On some days the clouds go on forever and never seem to end. Either covering the entire sky, or scattered but still arranged in a typical pattern repeating throughout the distance. If you look close enough you can even see the same shapes on the horizon. This is nothing special of course, clouds look like this all the time. Just another regular afternoon.

Someone Else's Sunrise

Could you imagine? While looking at a sunset someone else was looking at the very same time but seeing a sunrise? For brief second it makes the world seem small and seem like we all have at least that much in common. I think one day if the blog gets big enough, we can coordinate and take pictures of multiple sunrise and sunsets for the same day.

PS - this picture was taken on a friends camera while we were driving by the beach.

A Mix of Colors and Shapes

I find it really interesting at how different the colors are in this one. Usually when I take pictures of the sky the colors are all similar. But this one has two different color sets on each side and two different types of clouds in the distance. Only the soft hazy clouds in the background are colored while the dark foreground clouds have the definite shape.... I'll be keeping an eye on you clouds, don't try anything funny.

Surreal Sort of Feeling

These clouds are the very same ones as the previous post. Hard to believe right? This was taken only a few minutes after the other picture. If you ever get a chance to see a sunset, be sure to see it in glimpses. Stare at it for a minute and when you look at it again a few minutes later it will be something entirely different -- a whole new sky. Feels sort of surreal.
